History and Background
American College of Nursing (ACN) secured it temporary approval for the Vocational Nursing Program in April 2007. The college officially admitted the first class into the Vocational Nursing Program in May 2007.
ACN received approval to operate from the Bureau for Private Post Secondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE) on April 20, 2007.
In December 12, 2007, the California Department of Health Services approved the Nursing Assistant Training Program. American College of Nursing launched its first Nursing Assistant Program in 2008.
In March 2008, the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVN/PT) awarded American College of Nursing full accreditation for the Vocational Nursing Program from March 4, 2008 through March 3, 2012, and has been extended until March 2016
In September 2010, American College of Nursing officially admitted the first class into the Psychiatric Technician Program.
August 2010, American College of Nursing launches the LVN to BSN Program through its partner university: Holy Names University.
