Dr. Laura Smith McKenna, RN, BS, MS, DNSc

Dr. McKenna received a BS in Nursing at Syracuse University, an MS and DNSc at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. McKenna has many years experience (from 1963 to the present) related to teaching, administration, and leadership in a variety of settings. She has served as administrative consultant, chief operating officer, program developer/evaluator and researcher in educational institutions and in community based health care organizations. Dr. McKenna’s experiences as an educator uniquely qualify her for the oversight of curriculum development/implementation, for supervision and development of faculty, and for ongoing evaluation of the curriculum.


Mila Josue, RN, BSN

N.A.C.T. Program Director

Ms. Josue earned her BS Degree in Nursing at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. She is a California Board Certified Rehabilitation RN. She is also a certified educator and Director of Staff Development. She has served as a staff nurse/supervisor, a charge nurse, a case manager, a staff developer, and as a nursing instructor for the last 29 years.


Dr. Orilynn Tunacao Giron, MD, RN, BS, MSN, MHA, WCC, Dean of Academic and Student Affairs

Dr. Orilynn Giron-Roxas earned a BS in Biology and a doctorate degree in Medicine at De La Salle University, Philippines. She is a Registered Nurse in California. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing and Hospital Administration at the California University of Los Angeles. She is a Certified Wound Care Consultant.


Dennis Javillonar, BSN, RN

Instructor

Dennis earned his BSN degree from the University of Northern Philippines as Cum Laude in 2006. After graduation, he worked as a volunteer nurse and as a Public Health Nurse from 2006 to 2009 and became a Clinical Instructor at the College of Nursing of  University of Northern Philippines, his Alma Mater. He now works as an RN at Acute care Hospital at San Francisco Bay Area and as a VN instructor at American College of Nursing.


Mary Jeanne Paz, BS, MD

Anatomy & Physiology Instructor

Dr. Paz earned her BS degree in Management and Industrial Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines in 1986 and graduated Doctor of Medicine from Manila Central University, Philippines in 1944. She worked as a Resident Physician in OB-GYN and a Fellow in OB-GYN Ultrasound at the Manila Central University Hospital, Philippines from 1996-2000. She current works as a Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler at a private OB-GYN clinic and as an Anatomy & Physiology Instructor at American College of Nursing.

zanne Sanders, RN, BS, MS, NP,
Instructor

Ms. Sanders has earned a BSN fromt he Samuel Merrit/St. Mary’s Intercollegiate Nursing Program in Oakland, CA, and an MS from UCSF. She is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and has experience working with patients in acute care, emergency care, cardiac rehabilitation, addictions, and maternal-child units.


Deepa Kunjalakattu Ulahannan, BSN, RN

Instructor

Ms. Ulahannan earned her Diploma in Nursing at J.S.S. School of Nursing at Karnataka State, India. She had several years of experience as a nurse supervisor and as a clinical instructor in India before moving to the United States. In California, she has been working as a staff nurse and clinical instructor up to the present.


Mabelle Joy Viera, BSN, MA, RN

Instructor

Ms. Viera earned her BSN degree in 1981 and Master in Nursing-Major Education in 2007 from San Pedro College, Davao City, Philippines. She worked as a Dialysis Nurse in 2003 and as a Clinical Instructor at the College of Nursing. San Pedro College from 2005-2007. She currently works as an RN at the Diamond Ridge HC in Pittsburg and as a VN Instructor at American College of Nursing.
